The History of STS - Car Care & Towing

Not everyone can say they work in the same building as they did when they were 15 in 1970 Steve Pokorny was searching for his first paying job , which led him to a car wash located in the same building he now owns. After graduating with a degree in automotive technology in 1977, he worked as a technician for Sun Service.

After becoming lead and service manager, the family business that Steve was a part of moved up to 6819 West Florissant. Many successes were achieved, both civic and industry-wide during Steve's 34 years of management there.

In August 2006, Steve was approached with an offer to purchase the business, but took a different route. He chose to start an all-new effort named STS Service Towing & Sales. That company launched in January 2007.

In 2009 at the very same address he started his career so long ago Steve continues his successes with a completely remodeled facility The 8 bay shop with 3 Technicians, Service manager, office support staff prides itself on handling customers and car services at the cleanest and best equipped vehicle service center in the St Louis metro area.

In 2016 staff went to 4 techs, increased sales , added additional truck and storage.

In 2020 due to community confidence and the unfortunate of covid 19, increase of business took his staff to 5 techs 3 office personnel and 5 tow operators.

Now in 2023 / 2024 to continue the tag of "decades of Trust and Loyalty" Steve transitioned a merge with Joe Kaminski. He has 20 plus years in the automotive profession. Fun guy that loves all he does daily.

Teamed up, Steve and Joe have unmeasured value. Together they have added 2 more trucks / created STS Auto Group/ blended ownerships of Fair Repair /Joe K Used Cars and Ok Used Cars/ additional staff/ locations. they have brought STS to a new dimension.

Nothing has changed daily.
Friendly experienced staff.
Now 5 decades, another 3 is his goal
